Jazzin’ Up Remarkable Indonesia! Java Jazz Festival 2010 is just around the corner. 5, 6 and 7 of March in JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, we will have the world of jazz moved to Indonesia. The last press conference of Java Jazz Festival 2010 was held today in Borobudur Hotel, where we could see so many of jazz artists were already here, ready to blast the largest jazz festival in the world.
With Peter F Gontha, the Chairman of Java Jazz, Andi Malarangeng (Republic of Indonesia’s Minister of Education, Youth and Sports), Paul Dankmeyer (Program Director, JFP), EQ Puradiredja (Program Co-ordinator, JFP) and Mari E. Pangestu (Republic of Indonesia’s Minister of Trade), they opened the press conference with pride, mentioning all the amazing things about Java Jazz Festival 2010 this year. Java Jazz Festival is now listed in MURI record as the biggest festival in Indonesia for having 75 to 80 shows per day. Imagine this. There will be 430 International Musicians, 900 Indonesian musicians with a total of over 1000 musicians from all around the world performing on Java Jazz Festival 2010. Mari E. Pangestu then explained all the advantages of Java Jazz to Indonesian trade industry and the advantage for the positive image of Indonesia.
Java Jazz 2010 Press ConferenceThe press conference heated up as Diane Warren came to talk even just for a while as they mentioned her as a shy woman. Dianne Warren has written over 1000 songs and has made so many hits the world loves dearly today. Started from 1983 until now, she is the most productive songwriter in the world and now this remarkable songwriter is in Indonesia. Followed by Eric Benet and Griffith Frank, giving away their salute and charming accent “100% cinta Indonesia”. They gave away a very warm feelings to the bunch of press who were there trying to capture what Java Jazz 2010 will be like. Yet this wasn’t just an ordinary press conference. They gave us a surprises, Griffith Frank sang one amazing song and delivered it whole-heartedly to everyone and gave a goosebumps to people just by listening how magnificent and deeply soulful his voice is. Eric Benet then continued on with the song “I Can Get No Satisfaction” with Ron King Big Band. Eric Benet charmed us with his R ‘n B mix jazz version of the song.
The surprises continued on with Peter Gontha with Disc Tarra and Sony Music Indonesia as Sponsors and Distributors launched 2 DVD originally made in Indonesia that will be sold in Starbucks and CD stores around the world. “Glenn Fredly: A Tribute to Chrisye” and “Dwiki Dharmawan live at The Baked Potato Los Angeles in Memory of ROGER BURN,. feat Jimmy Haslip, Andy Suzuki, Steve Thornton and Walfredo Reyes Jr . These two CD were officially released by Mari E. Pangestu with a note to stop piracy and to respect musicians’ creativity.
